The MainPowerTrust is pleased to announce that the Annual General Meeting is able to proceed on the rescheduled date of Thursday 23rd September 2021 at 5.30pm, following the MainPower New Zealand Annual General Meeting, held in the Cafeteria at MainPower New Zealand Limited (172 Fernside Road, Rangiora 7400).

MainPower Trust Annual General Meeting Cancelled due to COVID-19.

Unfortunately the move to Level 4 has meant that the Trust AGM is not able to go ahead on the 19th of August.

Once we are in a position to move down alert levels far enough to be able to reschedule the meeting with some certainty the Trust will reschedule the Annual General Meeting.

 

The MainPower Trust 2020 election results have now been finalised.

We are pleased to announce that Jo Ashby, Andrew Thompson and Gary Walton are the successful candidates.

MainPower announced this week that it has started pre-construction site works for its $200 million Mt Cass Wind Farm project. 

Given the scale of this project, the final decision to proceed with the Project, once the Company completes the pre-construction work, will require the approval of the Trust. The Trust expects to be considering its final decision mid 2020 if not a little earlier.

The Trust worked closely with the Company as the business case for the Project was developed and is pleased to support the work the Company is now doing to finalise the procurement of contractors and the funding for the Project and other matters material to the success of the Project.

At the centre of the Trust’s consideration of the Project is what is in the best interests of our qualifying customers who are the Trust’s beneficiaries.

We will provide further updates when we have received and considered the Company’s final recommendation on the Project, once it completes the pre-construction work.

FINAL DECISION OF TRUSTEES

At the public meeting held on 21 August 2018 the Capital Distribution Review Proposal to continue to hold 100% of the Trust capital was confirmed as the Review Decision.
