The MainPower Trust, made up of seven Trustees, is the organisation that owns the shares of MainPower New Zealand Limited on trust for the benefit of the communities of North Canterbury and Kaikoura and for Qualifying Customers. More than 90% of MainPower customers are Qualifying.

Nigel brings to the MainPower Trust a broad business background and skill set, along with strength in strategic planning, driving positive change and innovation, coupled with a strong belief in supporting the community.

Richard Allison and Brent Hassall were returned to the MainPower Trust at the triennial trust elections held in March 2011.  Mr Allison is entering his 5th term as a MainPower Trustee and Mr Hassall has been a Trustee since the development of the original Trust in 1993 and is now in his 7th term.
